Welcome to our Missionary Journal! We are Kevin and Angelina, full-time missionaries from the organization The Family International. We hope you enjoy your visit with us!
What we do
We commit all of our time, energy and resources to missionary work. Our main objective is to follow Jesus' commandment to "go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature" (The Bible, Mark 16:15). We live in Guatemala, where we engage in a variety of projects: holding regular Bible classes, organizing seminars, camps and retreats, teaching the children at the local orphanages, distributing Christian literature, delivering food supplies to the poor, participating in distribution projects of books for children. How we live
We live together with 8 other like-minded individuals, our friends and co-workers. We share all of our finances, expenses and responsibilities, following the example of the Early Church, where "all that believed were together, and had all things common; and sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men, as every man had need" (The Bible, Acts 2:45:46).
What we believe
Here are a few interesting highlights: We believe in using the gift of prophecy to communicate with Jesus, and we practice it daily. We believe that we are now living in the Time of the End, and that Jesus will soon return. We believe that, even though we live in the world, we should not be a part of the world or its pursuits. We believe that love should govern our entire lives, and we extend this belief to all our behavior, including personal relationships. Of course there are many other things, like salvation by grace, spiritual warfare, healing, discipleship, etc. which you can read about in "The Family's Statement of Faith." Don't miss it!
How we support ourselves
Since we invest all our time in the projects of our mission, we are left with no time for secular employment. We don't receive a regular salary, but rather trust God for the supply of all our needs. "The Lord ordained that they which preach the gospel should live of the gospel" (The Bible, 1Cor. 9:14). God uses people like you to supply for us. Our history
We've done missionary work many years (Kevin since 1990 and Angelina her whole life, since her parents are missionaries). Before moving to Guatemala in 2006, we worked in Russia, Ukraine, Poland, the former Yugoslavia and Equatorial Guinea (Central Africa).

Although I've heard it's common to have sibling rivalry between brothers and sisters, I don't remember much of anything that would fall into that category with Aaron. [More...] |

He's getting more and more personality which makes him so fun to be with, but he also takes a lot more time and attention. Recently the Lord showed me that I should be putting more time into teaching him and pouring into him. Early Learning is something I was deterimined to [More...] |

I read this article this morning in this month's Activated magazine. Somehow I'm drawn to all articles on the topic of how to reduce worry and stress. It's a continual struggle to slow down and enjoy the simple things of life in this fast paced world with so much to think about and do. I hope it helps you as it did me.

Is there any chance you might be able to send something towards our trip? However small, it will be a big blessing... [More...] |
Panajachel

My parents, who have been visiting us, invited me to go with them to Panajachel - a quaint little tourist town located on the lake Attitlan which is 1500 meters above sea level and is surrounded by three volcanoes. Our trip was only three days, but was so relaxing it truly was a breath of fresh air and gave me renewed inspiration. We started the 4 hour journey at 9:00 after a small set-back as [More...] |

Thoughts on Windows Vista
kevin | 06/05/2007 19:25 | Category: Technical | Comments : 5 | Views: 539 I just completed upgrading InfoStore to version 3.2, which is supposed to be fully compatible with Windows Vista. In order to do that, I had to take a good look under the hood of the new operating system. There are several major changes that were introduced, and they are generally an improvement, at least in the area of system security, but they certainly require programmers to acquire a new mindset.
